| A few members of Newport Coast headed downstairs and to the swim start. |

A triathlete warming up in front of TYR banners.

Smiles all around. These AGs are sporting a wide range of wetsuits - Orca, Zoot, Blue Seventy and 2XU.

A spectator waiting for the swim start.

Welcome party and media, waiting.

Here, Andy Potts is wearing a Category 5 as he exits the water first.

The first 2XU Project X:2 Wetsuit coming out of the water.

A triathlete wearing a Blue Seventy Helix. Winner for the biggest smile of the morning.

Coming out of T1.

Men's pro coming back into transition.

The first rider is far in front.

The first rider back was 2XU athlete Michael Weiss. Here, he's wearing 2XU's compression triathlon apparel - one of the their best selling pieces this season thus far. I can't really tell if it's just the suit or a separate top and bottom though.

Jordan Rapp

Although not technically on the course, he was just a few yards away. I'd say he was moving at about 4 miles per hour.

James Burns

TYR Pro Magali Tisseyre

Why hello Mirinda Carfrae, 2010 Ironman World Champion, is that a Louis Garneau Vorttice Helmet you're wearing?

Kate Major

Here is James Walsh. Matching like this requires concerted effort. Turns out he won his AG, good work!

This person caught my eye because of his resemblance to Joaquin Phoenix when he decided to pursue a rap career a few years ago, all of which turned out to be a hoax.

Looking sharp in the Lazer Tek Top and Bottom.

On the course, people were calling him the "green man".

You might recognize this face if you're a Zoot fan or have seen the catalogs. Or maybe it's probably just us retail folk.

The women's race was really close, as all three women passed me on this hill in what seemed like within a span of 30 seconds.

Zoot shoes made quite an appearance in Oceanside. An example is the Ultra Race.

Rockin the K-Swiss K-Ruuz.

Because this guy will be google searched, I'll try to appropriately describe him as the 70.3 Oceanside Nacho Libre Ironman; Mexican Wrestler Mask Guy.

Bird's eye view.

I avoided the finish line because it was really packed, so I didn't get any good pictures there, sadly.

Nice wheel sets.

This friendly guy was just hanging out and playing in the water as we were headed to lunch after the race.
Tiring day.
I came home at a reasonable time in the evening, but I was pretty exhausted, so I went to bed after making this post.

Great pics!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha, the green guy is James Walsh. James rocks and guess what his favorite color is? He's down in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pics! I really wanted to make it down there, but just couldn't, so these were nice to see.
ReplyDeleteWelcome guys.
ReplyDeleteKiet, yeah, I did some research and made the connection! Pretty awesome to match like that - makes for some awesome pics.
killer photos! thanks for being our there shooting and posting them!
ReplyDeleteHey, great pics! Do you happen to have a high-res version of the birds eye shot? I am the rather tall guy in light blue, did you catch me in any of your other pics?
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm amazed of how you captured these photos! However, one photo just hit me hard... That dog in the end. It's swimming and playin' as if it didn't care about the event. Ha ha! I wonder if it also ran along with the racers. It would've been the winner, hehe.
